Pajaro Valley Community Health Trust
Pajaro Valley Community Health Trust (PVCHT) is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit public benefit healthcare foundation. Its mission is to improve the health and quality of life for all people of the greater Pajaro Valley, especially the most disenfranchised. PVCHT accomplishes its mission by intervening before health problems occur or worsen to help prevent poor health with education and disease prevention strategies. PVCHT also addresses pre-diabetes, diabetes, and/or oral health issues that require immediate intervention or treatment, meeting the most acute need for access to quality, culturally responsive services. In all its work, PVCHT collaborates with community members and agencies and relies on data to guide its decisions.
Fiscally sponsored projects of PVCHT are approved by its Board of Directors. As fiscal agent, PVCHT assumes legal and fiscal responsibility for all activities of Mesa Verde Gardens (MVG). MVG personnel manage the programs, human resources, and finances of the organization and to make strategic decisions about project’s direction, informed by MVG’s Advisory Board. In exchange for a management fee (equivalent to 8% of revenue received by MVG), PVCHT provides essential financial, human resources and administrative services to MVG. In the role of fiscal agent, PVCHT provides technical assistance to MVG to implement its programs as well as overall project and grants oversight.
PVCHT follows Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Its financial records are audited annually by independent third party auditors. PVCHT has consistently received clean audits.
